چکیده
INTRODUCTION There is increasing evidence that the frequency of atopic diseases including atopic dermatitis has increased over the last few decades with prevalence rates ranging between 10-20%. Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic relapsing inflammatory skin disease seen in patients with a personal or family history of atopy. Understanding the mechanisms that underlie AD has important clinical implications for the development of new management protocols for this illness. IgE-mediated mechanisms play a mutlifactorial role in the pathogenesis of AD. Serum IgE levels are elevated in 80-85% of AD patients and is considered an important hallmark of the disease. Eosinophilia is another important finding in the peripheral blood of the allergic type and eosinophils play an effector role in AD as they Original article

Correlation of total serum IgE and density of house dust mites with severity of Atopic Dermatitis
Background and aim: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic relapsing skin disease that commonly begins during infancy and early childhood. Research studies refers to a relationship between exacerbation of atopic dermatitis and exposure to house dust mite (HDM), but the role of HDM in the pathogenesis of AD is controversial. The objecitve of this study was to assess the correlation of density...
متن کاملThe Role of Staphylococcus Aureus Types and Toxin-Producing Ability in Pediatric Atopic Dermatitis and its Association with Disease Severity
Background: The skin of patients with atopic dermatitis has a high susceptibility to staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) colonization known to produce toxins with super antigen (SAgs) activity which are a family of potent immune-stimulatory exotoxins and may aggravate AD. The aim of this research was to evaluate the ro...
متن کاملUrinary excretion of leukotriene E4 and eosinophil protein X in children with atopic asthma.
Measurement of leukotriene E4 (LTE4) in urine is a noninvasive method for assessing changes in the rate of total body cysteinyl leukotriene production. Eosinophil protein X (EPX) has been used to assess eosinophil activity and monitor inflammation in bronchial asthma. The aim of the study was to look for differences in urinary LTE4 and EPX concentrations between children with stable atopic asth...
متن کاملThe impact Atopic dermatitis on the life quality of childrens 1-6 year
Background: Eczema or atopic dermatitis (AD) is one of the most prevalent skin diseases in the world. Although, the disorder is not fatal, it can cause life quality reduction. The aim of the current study was to investigate the impact of atopic dermatitis on life quality of 1-6-year-old children. Materials and Methods: The current study is a descriptive and analytical one designed to assess qu...
متن کاملAssociation of LL-37 and IL-31 serum levels with SCORing Atopic Dermatitis (SCORAD) score in atopic dermatitis patients
Background: Atopic dermatitis is a chronic, recurrent inflammation of the skin, accompanied by severe pruritus. Immune system dysregulation and skin barrier defects are associated with the abnormalities in atopic dermatitis. Myriad pieces of evidence have pointed to the major roles of LL-37 and interleukin-31 (IL31)in atopic dermatitis. The studies on atopic dermatitis are still limited i...
